Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Bill Plympton moved to New York
City, upon graduation from Portland State University in Graphic Design.
He began his career creating cartoons for publications such as New York
Times, National Lampoon, Playboy and Screw.
In 1987 he was nominated for an Oscar for his first short film "Your
Face" and again in 2004 for "Guard Dog". After producing many shorts
which appeared on MTV and Spike and Mike's , he turned his talent to
features. Since 1991 he's made 7 feature films, 4 of them, "The Tune",
"Mondo Plympton", "I Married A Strange Person" and "Mutant Aliens"
animated features.
His most recent feature film, "Hair High" is now playing in theaters in
the US. He is also working on a new feature called "Idiots and Angels"
which is due to be released in 2008.
